How to Connect, Disconnect and Reconnect Flowchart Items with Arrows

  • To open the Flowchart view, click on the first link in the Getting Started view.   Show Me
    Or, select the Flowchart / Structure command from the Storyboarder Pro menu.   Show Me
  • To connect two screen items with arrow, do the following:   Show Me
    1. Select the screen item to be the origin of the arrow.
    2. Move the mouse close to the cross sign in the middle of the screen item. The cross is highlighted with red spot and the mouse cursor changes its shape.
    3. Click the left mouse button and drag the arrow to the destination screen icon. When you drag the arrow over an item, the arrow snaps to that item.
    4. Release the mouse button and the arrow will connect the origin and destination screens.
      Note: On the origin screen page in the document, the link is recorded in the Navigation table.
  • To reconnect an arrow, you can either drag its destination   Show Me or origin   Show Me
    1. Move the mouse over the target arrow. The arrow is highlighted and the mouse cursor changes its shape.
    2. Click the left mouse button on the arrow. If you click closer to the arrowhead, you reconnect the arrow destination. Otherwise, if you click close to the arrow origin, you reconnect the arrow origin.
    3. Drag the arrow to the new origin/destination screen icon. When you drag the arrow over an item, the arrow snaps to that item.
    4. Release the mouse button and the arrow will connect the new origin and destination screens.
      Note: On the origin screen page in the document, the Navigation table is updated accordingly.
  • To reconnect an arrow, do the following:   Show Me
    1. Move the mouse over the target arrow. The arrow is highlighted and the mouse cursor changes its shape.
    2. Click the left mouse button on the arrow and drag the arrow to a blank space.
    3. Release the mouse button and the arrow will disappear.
      Note: The link entry is accordingly removed from the Navigation table on the origin screen page in the document.
