Storyboarder Pro menu and toolbar do not work

I run the program and see the Storyboarder Pro Editor toolbar and the Storyboarder Pro menu, but when I click a button or a menu item, nothing happens.

This is typically the case when your version of MS Word is 2003 Standard Edition, whereas the minimal required version is 2003 Professional Edition, or higher.

In this situation you can consider upgrading to MS Office 2007, see office.microsoft.com

Here is how to check your edition of MS Word 2003.

How do I check my MS Word 2003 edition and service pack?

Select the About command in the Help menu of Word. The window that appears is shown on the screenshot below.

Word 2003 About window

The edition of Word is displayed in the second line (highlighted with orange). The minimal required to run Storyboarder Pro is Professional Edition (Standard Edition will not do).

The installed service pack, if any, is displayed in the first line (highlighted with blue). If you are running Word 2003, it is highly recommended that you download and install the Service Pack 3 for MS Office 2003.

What if I have Word 2003 Standard Edition? How should I upgrade?

If you plan to upgrade your Microsoft Office, the best way to go is to get Office 2007 (any edition will work with Storyboarder Pro). The upgrade to Word 2003 Professional Edition is no longer supported by Microsoft. Here's the official website of Microsoft Office.
